Since 2015, the Tennessee Williams Theatre Company of New Orleans has built a year-round professional theatre dedicated to the extraordinary works, influence, and enduring legacy of Tennessee Williams in the city he called his spiritual home.
Voted Best Local Theatre Company by Gambit readers in both 2024, 2025 & 2026, TWTC has grown into a distinctive part of New Orleans' cultural landscape—producing ambitious professional theatre while creating meaningful employment for local artists.
Today, our work encompasses not only Williams' celebrated masterpieces and rarely produced works, but also plays by writers whose work carries forward, challenges, or reimagines the theatrical traditions he helped shape.
